How we travel

Multiple modes of transport make for more efficient travelling.

More time in the moment

Arrive at each location in the fastest, smoothest way possible – with zero time wasted. That leaves more time for the moments that matter to you like rooftop sunrises, street-food feasts and late-afternoon wanders.

A glimpse of how we travel in action

Getting from A to B and beyond

A combination of transport makes every day even more exciting than it already was. That’s our opinion, anyway. Take Big European as an example. This is the trip’s transport in numbers:

  • 15 trains
  • eight coaches

It saves 25 hours of transport time. You read that right. 25 hours doing more of what matters to you? A massive win.

Luggage

You bring it, you carry it. Our tip: bring a backpack as your main bag. Nobody enjoys dragging a suitcase across cobbled roads. You’re welcome to prove us wrong...

FAQs

Yes, standard luggage restrictions apply. Each traveller is limited to one item of standard luggage, plus one small item of hand luggage. Standard luggage must not exceed 44lb/20kg. Bag size cannot exceed 70 x 45 x 25cm and customers are required to carry their own luggage from A to B. Backpacks are encouraged, making the transfer between places much smoother. A reminder: you bring it, you carry it. And (just in case you missed us mentioning it above) nobody enjoys dragging a suitcase everywhere.

Yes. Our Trip Leaders have the might and will of many, but we never expect them to carry luggage for you. Hence the backpack recommendation.

Your group will have private sleeping cabins. Each train compartment will have five or six berths in a multi-share cabin. If a cabin is not fully occupied, you can spread out a little more as we’ve reserved the entire cabin to be used by Topdeck customers only. Rest assured, nobody outside the group is invited.

Yes – there are no twin-share/single/double upgrades available on overnight trains.
