Great itinerary, terrific guide.
2 overnight trains are excessive, but otherwise our tour guide was amazing and the group was amazing.
The only thing that stopped this from being a 5 was the fact that half the time our tour guide had no idea what was going on and was usually unorganised ,at times we’d organise events our self or just take charge ie, a girl ended up fainting due too heat exhaustion and food poisoning at a temple so naturally I carried her around ,I know these temples like the back of my hand so it was easy too navigate but I was willing too get a tuk tuk and ****** her back too the hotel. This went on for two temples she fainted at the first.Apart from that he was good too a certain degree at telling us about were we were,it’s history but at the end of the day the guy with a month long streak of drinking shouldn’t be taking charge of said tour even though it came naturally.
Only a few things were unhygenic (overbought train). Other than that, it was a good cultural experience and we saw less touristy places
topdeck generally was good for the first time beginner type traveler, the tour guide does their best to keep the tour moving and catering to everyone's needs and wants. Overall a nice trip as a first timer to the area.
Negatives would be the logistics of the tour itself.. i.e. a 16 hour overnight trade ride can be replaced by a quick 1-2 hour flight which i'm sure most traveller would want, other logistical issues would be why there is no stop in hue, danang, nha trang when the stopover is in phan rang with not much there? Mekong delta homestay stopover also doesn't make sense logistically, why not do 2 nights in Ho Chi Minh City which allows an extra day there, then go to Mekong Delta as a stopover to Phnom Penh, doing Mekong delta as a stopover wastes travel time getting there and getting back to Ho Chi Minh City only to leave the following day...
Other negativity is the price, doing it solo on an average per night basis would be a fraction of the price maybe 20% of the price staying at the same 3 star type hotels. So you're paying a premium for the service which is good but not needed for an experienced brave traveller who has travelled solo before.
Very good trip, showed enough to make me want more yet showed me enough to have an authentic experience. Throughout the trip I felt very safe.
Locations of stay and transportation was all very well managed and nicely curated.
Would have loved to stay longer in places however we were still able to do everything. I think the trip notes need to be updated as some of the optional activities weren’t recommended, as well as needing a more detail itinerary as we only knew what we were doing the night before.
Absolutely loved Vietnam! Amazing place to visit, good food good people, stunning scenery! Cambodia was fascinating too
I really enjoyed this experience getting to know the differnt cultures and people.
Good price maybe more meals
The only problem I saw was the time in Phan Rang. I think we could just skip this city and stay one more day at Hoi An and Ho Chi Ming. Those cities are amazing, but the time there where too short. Meanwhile, Phan Rang is a beautiful beach, but Vietnam is too close to Thailand (that has better beaches), so I believe that anyone that really wants to go to the beach could just book a flight there after the Vietnam and Camboja trip.
Trip leader Hai was excellent- very organised, helpful, approachable and knowledgeable about all places we visited.
Most places we stayed were of good standard and clean.
Places visited were excellent, wish we had more time there!
3 weeks jam packed with experiences and stories I never would have had if I went just by myself. Immersed in the culture and learning about the history, the food, people and language made this a once in a lifetime experience.
A lot of free time in places where there isn’t much to do
